35 Years in various fields of Instrumentation as below in Steel, Fertilizer & Petrochemical Plants

a. Instrument Supervisor - Rourkela Steel Plant - 2 Years 1961 – 62 In -charge of Maintenance of Process Control Instruments for Rolling Mills.

b. Training Officer : Fertilizer Corporation of India-7 Years 1962 – 69 In -charge of Developing special Training Facilities, Pilot Plant, Workshop, Training Modules, Manuals, Programs for training Instrumentation Technicians, Supervisors and Engineers of various Industries including Steel Plants, Fertilizer Plants and Petrochemical units from all over India.

Personally trained more than 400 technicians, Supervisors and Engineers in short and long term Training programs to enable them to work in various plants.

Have published training manuals which had become course material for these courses.

I also developed a complete Pilot Plant and Instrument workshop where the operation of all types of Instruments could be seen in actual working conditions of a plant as well as all types of Instruments could be handled, dismantled , repaired, tested and calibrated as per actual plant conditions.

c. Development of Instrumentation Training Facilities in Turkey under UNIDO contract --1980 I was also involved in developing training facilities similar to what was developed in Training Centre of Fertilizer Corporation of India , at AZOT SANAYI Fertilizer Plant in Turkey for training technical staff of Turkish Industries on a Turkish Govt. Training Program Development Project with the assistance of UNIDO.

I developed all the Training facilities like working Pilot Plant, Instrument testing and Calibrating Workshop, Training syllabus and manuals on all t he subjects of Instrumentation field.

I conducted Training Programs for the Turkish Training supervisors, Technicians and Engineers so as to enable them to conduct similar Training program themselves.

d. Training Program in Japan Attended a 2 months Training Program for Hydraulic Woodward Governors for Speed Control of large Steam Turbines which were being used in all Fertilizer Plants of India, so as to plan and start training facilities for the same in PDIL India for Instrument Engineers.

e. Training Manual for   Mechanical, Instrumentation subjects for  Ballarpur Industries -1992 Prepared a very comprehensive large volume Training Manual for their Training Centre to conduct Training Programs in the field of Instrumentation for their technical personnel. This manual covers all the fields of Basic Principle of Operation, Design & Selection guidelines, Standard Practices, Testing & Calibration procedures for all types of Instruments and activities.

f. Instrumentation Technician Training Program for Rusayl Technical Institute Oman in - 2005 I am now conducting 3 weeks long regular Training Programs on various topics of Instrumentation for Technical personnel of OMAN GAS and other Petrochemical Industries.
Program Contents :

a. Design and Installation guidelines for making Instrument Specification Sheets

b. Standard Practices in understanding, reading and making of P & ID Sheets.

c. Hazardous Area Classification and design and Installation Practices for Explosion Proof and Weatherproof enclosures.

d. Guidelines for design and installation of Safety Interlock system / PLC

e. Standard Practices for Preventive, Predictive, and Reliability Centered Maintenance of Instruments.

f. Short Term Course on Safety Valves at Rusayl Technical Institute is being conducted for Technicians and Engineers of various Petro Industries.

3 Days course on Safety Valves contains topics as below :
1. Function and Operation of Safety Valves
2. Application of Safety Valves as per standard practices.
3.Types, Selection & Installation of Pressure Relieving Devices as per API -520.

4. Inspection & Testing of Pressure Relieving Devices as per API- 570 5. Case histories
These programs are being conducted by the Institute regularly.

g. I have developed new and modern Training Modules based on Multimedia presentation techniques on various topics like Instruments, Control Valves, Safety Valves Design, Installation in Petrochemical Plants which includes topics like Basics of Instrumentation Design, Selection, Installation, Testing Calibration and Troubleshooting etc.

h. Supervised and managed complete Instrumentation Erection, Testing, Commissioning and Maintenance jobs of following Fertilizer Plants all over India while working for 20 years with Indian Engineering and Consultant company Projects & Development India Ltd. (PDIL ). From 1972 -1992 acting up to the level of Chief Engineer Instruments

4. Sindri Modernisation Plant

5. Kribhco Fertilizer Plant

6. Lanwa & Balol In-Situ Combustion Plant for Oil recovery from Underground dried up oil wells of ONGC India.

7. Managed complete Construction Deptt. Of PDIL as Chief Engineer for Planning and Contracting and Expediting of construction activities of some Fertilizer plants.

8. I have also worked as Manager Fabrication for 5 years  in charge of a large fabrication shop of PDIL which was manufacturing Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers for various Fertilizer Plants on order as per various standard Codes and Practices.

i. In the last few years of my career I have also worked as General Manager (Production ) and Business Development Manager in the field of Instrumentation and Heavy steel Fabrication, Casting and Forging manufacturing plants.

j. I have also 5 years experience as Regional Manager for Marketing activities of Engineering & Industrial products
